Background & Credentials
Brian Kevin McIntyre, D.O. was born and raised in New Jersey. He is the youngest of 8 children and successfully navigated his way to become the first member of his family to attend a 4 year college straight out of high school. He was inspired to pursue a career in Medicine by his mom, who was herself valedictorian of her high school and Nursing school. His hard work paid off by obtaining The Marine Corps scholarship foundation scholarship, as his dad was a WWII veteran and the George Hutt pre-medical scholarship while in college. He graduated from Rutgers University magna cum laude.
Although his major was Biology, he decided to enter the school district of Philadelphia to teach first grade to an underserved population. Afterwards he followed his dream and attended the UMDNJ(now Rowan University) School of Osteopathic Medicine. Again, he obtained a partial merit scholarship throughout all 4 years. He went on to complete his Osteopathic rotating internship in Corpus Christi, TX and completed residency at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He is Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). He also went on to obtain a Board certification in Integ rative Holistic Medicine.
Throughout his career he has received several awards with the most recent being named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for 2025, and a 5280 Magazine peer selected Top Doctor for 2024 and 2025.

Areas of Expertise
Dr. McIntyre provides care in the broad field of his specialty, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has worked in many areas of PM&R, but has settled in to focus mostly on Spine health. This includes non-surgical Orthopedic and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. His approach at Sound includes utilizing Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment(OMT), and exercise prescriptions as a basis for improving health. His gentle approach to hands-on Medicine incorporates Strain/Counterstrain, Muscle Energy, and Facilitated Positional Release techniques. Additionally, he does Lymphatic drainage, HVLA and Still techniques, among others to manage pain and improve health. His knowledge of Integrative Holistic principles means you will be seen and treated as a whole person, not just an illness. For appropriate patients, he will also apply Craniosacral treatment, which is very gentle and soothing for most. His scope covers most pain conditions with a Rehabilitative approach complementary to the excellent Primary Care offered at Sound Clinic.
