Wellness Practitioner - Certified
Background & Credentials

Lana is a certified Wellness Practitioner with over 20 years of experience. Blessed with opportunities to assist, manage and educate dozens of practitioners early in her career, Lana was uniquely positioned to see what was really working to help patients. Knowing that these experiences had given her a unique insight into the patterns that define refractory illness, she moved into a role where she could be the agent of change. After 4 years of extensive study, she earned her Wellness Practitioner Certification under Dr. John Brimhall in 2006. But Lana’s commitment spiritual growth combined with her past experiences allowed her to expand upon Brimhall’s contributions into an approach that was uniquely her own. Perhaps best described as a variation on Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) Lana’s interventions help identify and release ‘stuck’ emotional patterns.

Areas Of Expertise

Lana seeks to create and expand conscious awareness of self by empowering inner peace and balance. Negative emotions, especially anger, grief, fear, hopelessness, shame, blame, regret and despair can negatively affect the body long after the conclusion of the event that triggered them. Unresolved emotional trauma increases stress and the immunosuppressive effects of stress are well documented. The connection between consciousness and immunity is mediated by the nervous system. The study of this connection is called psychoneuroimmunology (PNI). Even though it has deep historical roots and remains an active field of academic research, PNI has been slow to produce practical therapeutic interventions. Traditional talk therapy, usually referred to as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), has a good track record in the literature. But sometimes just an intellectual understanding of a trauma isn’t enough.

With the help of kinesiology (a.k.a. muscle testing) key traumas and neurological associations can usually be identified in minutes. The meridian system of Traditional Chinese Medicine provides the interventional window into the nervous system that’s missing in CBT. By forcing the body to examine its emotional stressors in the context of the neurological response that they elicit, it’s possible to reverse the detrimental effect of emotional trauma on physiological processes. Involving the nervous system in the rebalancing the emotional patterns can be highly beneficial in releasing the immune system from suppression.
